Indiana (IN) was the 19th state to join the United States, and its capital is Indianapolis, IN. It was nicknamed “The Hoosier State” after a poem written about the state in 1830, and is known for hosting the oldest car race in the world, the Indianapolis 500, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
